The Dutch government has recently enacted a new law and is considering other measures to help facilitate new infrastructure projects.

A  recent change has come about in the law regarding the approval process for new infrastructure projects in the Netherlands. New legislation referred to as the "Law on the Acceleration of Decision Making for Road Infrastructure Projects" was officially published in April, and is intended to streamline the approval process for new projects. Other similar, and wider reaching laws are also under consideration. For a review of the new legislation you can download a pdf of my recent article on the topic here.  These new legislative initiatives are being undertaken by the Dutch government in reaction to the global economic downturn.
