Academic Partnering

Conway & Partners’s commitment to the law as a professional calling is not limited to merely representing clients. We place a strong emphasis on playing a leadership role in the development of the law through academic activities such as lecturing at law schools, teaching in the Bar’s young lawyer training program, and publishing in professional journals as well as serving on the boards of (international) professional organizations. We encourage our lawyers to pursue advanced academic degrees and qualifications. These and other examples are described below:

Internships

Conway & Partners regularly hosts (international) students hoping to gain practical work experience, particularly those with a keen interest in international arbitration. Depending on their preference, interns often get the chance to work in any of our different practice areas, including litigation, international arbitration or commercial transactions. We do not limit our candidates for internships to only Dutch students, thus we often accept interns from various parts of Europe or overseas. Fluency in Dutch is desirable but not required. For more information, contact: info@conway-partners.com

Publishing

Conway & Partners regularly encourages its lawyers to contribute to the development of the law and legal practice by publishing various works on topics of interest. We also serve on the editorial boards of professional journals. For a full list of articles published by our lawyers, visit our Publications and Resources.

University and Bar Education Lectures

The lawyers at Conway & Partners are regular lecturers at the law schools of various universities as well as for the Dutch Bar’s mandatory program for young lawyers’ education. We seek to maintain close relations to universities and also encourage our young lawyers to serve in leadership positions with the Young Bar Association. We also serve, for example, on the Boards/Councils of academic and professional organizations, such as the Erasmus University Rotterdam International LLM Program, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators European Branch, the International Mediation Institute, the American Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Mediation Institute.

Conferences

Our goal is not only to represent our client’s interests, but also help them become more informed about the different aspects of the law which can affect their business. That is why Conway & Partners is involved in organizing conferences designed to provide in-house counsel, managers and other professionals with up-to-date information about new and changing developments in the law. If you would be interested in attending one or more of our specialized educational events, please contact info@conway-partners.com for further information.
